Welcome to the July 2020 Stamp of the Month Blog Hop featuring My Beautiful Friend. You should have come from Gina's blog, but you can start anywhere and just keep going until you get back to where you started. If you get lost along the way, head over to Melinda's blog for a complete list of participatns. Here's a look at this lovely stamp set.
I have so many beautiful friends! I'll be using this a lot. My first card is going to a friend back in Virginia. Before I show you the card, let me tell you just a little bit about Sabrina. When I met her about two-and-a-half years ago, we clicked right away. I asked if she wanted to host an army spouse coffee. The plan was to do it at the chapel, but I had to switch things up at the last minute and do it at her home. We were setting out all the food when I asked, "How do you normally host?" She said, "I've never done it before." I felt horrible. I'd basically forced her into co-hosting with me then made her open her home. And then--a week ago--I found out this shy, retiring woman had agreed to be president of a large group of women on post. I'm so proud of how far she's come!! I wanted to send a card to celebrate her.
I chose colors that are prominent in her home. She has such an artistic flair. I started by embossing the focal image using black pigment ink and clear embossing powder. I then watercolored, including some shading around the image and grass at the bottom. After I added the sentiment, I ran the image through the largest Stitched Rectangular Frame then mounted it to Sangria cardstock before attaching it to my card base.
Here's another card with a completely different feel.
I stamped the background using just the flowers from the same image as the first card. I stamped in both Peach and Ballerina inks. I then ran it through the Multi-Circle Window Thin Cut.I stamped the sentiment, highlighted "My Love" using the bar in peach around the edges then overstamped in Ballerina for a two-tone effect. I colored the stamped images and the Acrylic Hearts with alcohol markers then topped them with Liquid Glass. I'm not sure I'm happy with that, but it looks much better in person than in the photo.
Now you're off to Kathy's blog. Be sure to make it all the way through the hop to see lots of inspiration for this fun, versatile set.
Until next time,
Becca
