Hubby and I were invited out to dinner last week. It was a great time of food and fellowship, and a wonderful break from my writing deadlines. I wanted to send a special thank you to our hosts, so I pulled out a recently retired set from CTMH called "Friend Tree" and combined it with this week's Color My Heart challenge.
I had to fudge a little on the colors since I sold my Pear stamp pad. This used Fern instead. I stamped the trees in Black Momento ink on Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor paper cut to 2.75x4, let it dry, then wet my paper with clear water in the shape of the tree and dotted reinker in Fern, Sorbet, and Pomegranate, letting them swirl and bleed into each other. I then stamped the sentiment, a hostess gift set also from CTMH, in the corner. I cut a black panel 1/8 inch larger than the watercolor paper, glued them together, mounted it with foam tape, and accented with gold sequins.
Back to the grindstone for me. Two writing deadlines by October 3, and my parents arrive tomorrow for a week of vacation.
Yeah...
Until next time,
Becca
