Spring-loaded Birthday

For the second week in a row, I'm playing along with Mojo Monday.  I love this week's sketch and it was perfect for a belated birthday card I needed to make.

All supplies are CTMH, although the background ink spatters is long retired.  Here's a close-up of the adhesive spring.  Sorry it's not a better photo.  My camera wouldn't focus on the right thing and I'm not savvy enough to know how to change that on my "thinks for you" digital camera.  I adhered the twisty tie with Liquid Glass (aka, Glossy Accents) to the middle of the spring by layering the twisty in, touching Liquid Glass to the front and back, pressing the spring down so the Liquid Glass squished, and then releasing the spring before the Liquid Glass dried.  It takes a while to dry, so you have to be patient.

I cut the HAPPY with my Cricut then outlined the letters with a black marker.  I wasn't able to get into all the tiny spaces, but it was close enough for a card with an intentionally sloppy feel.

Here's the supply list:
  • Stamps:  Doodled Designs, Oodles of Doodles, Artfully Sent Cricut coordinating stamps, Ink Splatters (retired)
  • Ink:  Black, Whisper, Canary
  • Markers: Black, Copic YR21 (inside stars)
  • Accessories: Slate Twisty Ties, Adhesive Springs, Liquid Glass
The BIRTHDAY stamp is straight, so I just bent it to get the curve.  Love that about acrylic stamps!!

Off to do author stuff now.  Have a happy Monday!

Until next time,
Becca
